High Marks for Zondervan and the TNIV…
Well, several promotional copies of the revamped TNIV Reference Bible are being shipped this week by Zondervan to those pastors who signed up both here and on This Lamp.
Earlier today I was in conversation with Zondervan to reaffirm the delivery. I was so pleased with the news, after getting a few emails from pastors, wondering about the promotional Bibles.
Zondervan is delivering…

Wow, time flies.
Hey TC,
I am thinking about putting this on my Christmas list, and hope that my wife gets it for me.
Nathan, time does fly.
Robert, that’s a good gift. I hope the wife gets it for you.

Dave, thanks for the heads up. Looks good!
Tim, keep that kid in you alive…
I’m on the lookout for the mail person.
Kevin, I’m esp. excited about the two ribbons.
GOT IT! GOT IT! GOT IT! GOT IT! GOT IT! GOT IT! GOT IT! GOT IT!
IT IS WONDERFUL! And I love the smell of the leather.. my wife thinks I am crazy because I keep smelling it!
I am going to spend some time in it this evening getting used to the topical system built in it…
Thank you…
BTW, tomorrow is my Birthday…
God is Great… look what a present he gave me!
Both… The Living Word, and The Written Word!
Thank you TC.
Tim, happy B’Day in advance. I’m so glad you got it and like it.
Yes, God is indeed great!
My copy arrived today, it is quite nice. This now makes three things for me to review, so I’m going to have to get going on those. Thanks again for this opportunity TC, and Zondervan (if you’re reading this). Look for a review on my blog this month.
We all must have got ours today. All I can say is WOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!! This is a beautiful gift. It is by far the best quality Bible I have ever owned. I know there are probably nicer ones (from Cambridge) but my goodness…this is truly a treasure! Thank you, Zondervan!
Nathan and Dan, I’m glad that you guys also got your Bibles today… and loving it!
Nathan, I look forward to your review.
ours came today! Ours? Yes, see my blog for more!
Brian, congrats to you both. Zondervan came through!
Got mine on Friday, just haven’t had a chance to get to the computer. Thanks so much and would it be possible to have an address or name of someone at Zondervan so I can send them a thank you card?
Congrats, Jerry B. That’s a great idea. Let me try and get an address for a direct department.
I just received mine, too, last Friday (through the same offering). It’s great! I agree with Tim — loving the smell!
Jerry B and anyone else who’d like to drop Zondervan a thank you note can do so at the address below:
Zondervan
5300 Patterson Ave SE
Grand Rapids, MI 49530
I still haven’t received mine yet. Maybe mail is slower getting to Canada?
Kevin, yeah, it’s being in Canada. Maybe you need to relocate.
Thanks for the info, sent off a card of thanks today. Really enjoying the bible, can’t wait for the opportunity to wave it around wildly while I am preaching on Sunday! Now if I can just work on my “Jeeesssuus” pronunciation I will be golden.
Jerry B – I love it!
I just got mine yesterday. It’s beeaauutiifullll bible!!!
Kevin, all the waaay to Canada. Now that is what I call high marks!
I’m glad that you’re liking it.
Has anyone done a review of this Bible? I’m thinking about getting one, but wanted to look at a couple of reviews.
I have an NIV Renaissance Leather thinline – how does this TNIV compare?
I reviewed my copy as promised a few weeks ago; you can read it here:

TNIV Reference Bible
Thanks! I appreciate it. I grew up using the NIV, and haven’t read much of the TNIV, but would really like to check it out. I’m thinking that using the TNIV would be helpful because of the updated language.
It is great. Last year I pretty much quit using the NIV, and now use the TNIV, NLT, and NET Bible as my primary translations. I highly recommend the TNIV and especially this reference edition to you. It’s a great resource.
I’ve been using the NIV, and added the NET a couple of weeks before Christmas. I really enjoy those translator notes. I’ve always been a fan of the NLT too, but haven’t been using it of late.
I’ve recently started reading through the NLT study bible and now my wife is reading from it pretty regularly. I’ve been using my new NET since I got it for xmas and like it pretty well so far. Actually, I like the NT a lot, but the OT has been a little mixed in places. Also, it looks like our church is going to buy a bunch of TNIV pew bibles soon. Three cheers for variety!

After listening to this, I’m thinking about purchasing a TNIV and sending to the guy.
Hehe… Yeah, I’m an instigator.
