So I got weak in the knees and took the misguided: Which Modern Evangelist/Theologian Are You?

Rob Bell
My answers:
The bold two three are what Elshaddai and I have in common:
- An M.Div is helpful, but you still need the Holy Spirit to help you out as you study.
- We are such wicked beings that God HAS to choose/predestine us. There is no way that we could love Him otherwise.
- “It’s not about YOU!”
- Hey, there’s an empty strip-mall. Let’s fix it up and use that.
- I love being Charismatic. Those “Frozen Chosen” are totally missing out.
- “Monty Python & the Holy Grail” and/or “The Life of Brian”
- Remind everyone that they are filthy sinners, and that only Christ can make them clean.
- “Always look on the Bright Side of Life” Monty Python.
- Contemporary worship. Contemporary preaching.
So Elshaddai and I both came out as Rob Bell even though we are only in agreement on two three out of nine questions.
Something is not cooking right (Peter Kirk)? Or is it “Hey, there’s an empty strip-mall. Let’s fix it up and use that.”?

Trade you?
I got Rob Bell as well… and I had both of those that you and ElShaddai had in common as well.
Look again — we agree on #3 as well.
PeterM, I do like Piper but not that much.
Bryan, you got it!
yeah…. it said i was rob bell as well. i had #2,3,4,5 in common with you… don’t really like that quiz i think.
Man, I missed #3! Now 3 out of 9. Still…
Vo2468 – well, more so.
Well, tc, we have 4 & 5 in common. I think my wife has a Piper book or two laying around, maybe I should read them.
Ok, What’s the name of the Piper book? I’ll tell you if you should read it.
Having only nine questions doesn’t allow for a valid sample of one’s theology.
Stan, it depends on the nine questions, right?
Oops! I think I totally lied, they are Heaven is Real and 90 Minutes in Heaven by DON Piper. That’s kind of funny.
I got John Piper. At least I didn’t get Rick Warren…
PeterM, honest mistake. In fact, several years ago when I first saw Piper on the side of 90 Minutes in Heaven, that now (in)famous book, I thought it was John Piper.
Polycarp, it depends on who you ask about Piper or Warren?
I couldn’t resist any more, so I reactivated my Facebook account, took the quiz, found out I’m John Piper, then deactivated my account again.
I’m disappointed. It wasn’t worth it.
(Hey, if I’m John Piper, when do I start getting his paycheck?)
I was kind of surprised I came out as John Piper but I`m happy with the result. I’m not surprised cause I like listening to him. I think it might be learned osmosis or something.
Gary, why be disappointed. We have something in common.
Gary, I don’t know whether to smile for you or be sad for you.
I think I’d choose the former because I think you so hilarious.
Kevin, Are you Baptist, Calvinist, and Charismatic? Because when you think Piper, you have to think all three.
I’m Piper.
I believe Piper has dominated this quiz.
I guess it’s either Piper or Bell.
By the way, there were several questions for which there was no answer I found adequate.
Stan, on Peter Kirk’s blog I asked – Who is this developer? I wished I’d known before I participated.
Don’t pit me against “Hey, there’s an empty strip-mall. Let’s fix it up and use that.” I would agree on that one! In fact from your answers and ElShaddai’s I reckon I too would come out as Rob Bell, certainly not as John Piper.
Gary, you were wise to deactivate your Facebook account after taking the quiz. But it may be too late to stop the identity theft of yourself and your friends – if you had any, on Facebook I mean.
PeterK, we need more Bells but with less of his antics.
Peter, you’re probably right. I was on Facebook for a couple months before I got sick of it and deactivated my account. So I was there long enough, that’s for sure!
I just wanna know how come I didn’t come out as John MacArthur!
I don’t even like to listen to Piper!
TC, if there are any vacancies for an anticless Rob Bell, let me know. But then I don’t really claim to be his equal.
Gary, I got sick of Facebook long ago, but kept my account because it sometimes comes in useful.
I don’t see the point of getting rid of Facebook. Just disable email notifications and only get on every once and a while to check out stuff if you don’t like it too much.
Good advice, Jake – except that it doesn’t stop your “friends” giving away your personal info.
@Peter Kirk: Ah, I haven’t had that problem.
I got Greg Boyd!
Gary, John MacArthur is even more despised, just ask Brian.
PeterK, I’m now learning that we can’t improve upon Bell.
Jake, not a bad idea.
Brian, Boyd isn’t bad. Still better than a Piper. Well, depends on who you ask.
EE, I wonder what two or three of the questions triggered a Boyd result?
Kevin, Are you Baptist, Calvinist, and Charismatic? Because when you think Piper, you have to think all three.
I could be all three. Maybe I ought to switch denominations. If I was preaching in such a church, you might not be able to tell difference…but then, I just got ordained.
Kevin, it’s cool that you could be all three.
By the way, How’s your first few months of ordination going?
It’s going awesome so far. My biggest job is preaching, then visitation. I feel it’s what I was created to do. Visitation/pastoral care can be fun and draining too but I love it.
Kevin, I’m so happy for you, esp. viewing it as what you were created to do.
Yeah, and striking that balance is so important, to guard against burn out and so on.

I got Greg Boyd when I went with my second choices on all the answers!
