First Dr. Jim West deserted his faithful readers and commenters by deleting his blog without a single post of gratitude to those faithful readers and commenters.
Then over at Scripture Zealot, Jeff has removed his blogroll without a single word.
Well, bloggers can do whatever they want: We really don’t owe anyone anything. So what if we have faithful readers and commenters? So what if I visit your blog and then want to visit another blog through your blogroll, making things easier?
And why am I objecting? Remember, I’m a blogger, a strange creature, and I can do whatever I want.
Now I need to think of something rather strange to do.

You could come to Kansas City and go to the outpouring at the International House of Prayer and change the title of your blog to New Wine.:-)
YAY for IHOP!
I explained it. Fourth paragraph of mine down:
http://www.scripturezealot.com/2010/01/05/the-rebirth-of-virtue-an-interview-with-n-t-wright/
You need to read the posts to know if there was ‘not a single word’.
Sorry if it caused any pain. I don’t do things for drama or for no apparent reason.
I could have explained it even further but that might have ruffled feathers and I don’t like doing that. I apologize if it takes away some exposure for some people. But it’s only a link. Wafer thin.
Jeff
Duane,
My next blog would be called “New Wine.”
Jeff,
We’re all strange creatures, at times. So I needed to read another title to find out why removed your blogroll and do not want to endorse other bloggers? Sorry I missed that and hastened to conclusion. I do that sometimes. Forgive me.
yeah I thought you may have just looked through titles but needed to dig deeper. It’s not that I don’t want to endorse any other blogs or help them by linking to them. I was thinking about having a big link page but that would be to much work. I was thinking of having a top 5 but that causes difficulties too. This all came about because I was unhappy with a couple and wanted to remove them. I also wasn’t reading some of them because I’m trying to reduce my time online. I’m also always trying to reduce stress. So I just removed it.
I forgive you of course.
Jeff
I’ve thought the exact same thing – dumping the blogroll in favor a links page – but I haven’t had the gumption to do it. Besides, I think the in-page link would provide better link juice than a blogroll anyway.
Jeff,
I just thought the whole thing strange, but then you have stated your reason. Again, we bloggers are strange creatures.
Peter,
A few have done that.
OOGA BOOGA BOOGA OOGA!!!!
Now, see. I bet y’all had no idea I was going to say that.
Just proving your point, TC.
I dunno, Bill, I sorta excepted it.
I just bought my first NT Wright book – I hope it doesn’t make me do strange and crazy things. I mean, besides howling at red cars, which I do already.
Bill,
You got!
Joel,
Trust me, read Wright long enough and you’d be messed up and find yourself doing strange things. Okay, I’m sharing too much of me.
“read Wright long enough”
Boy, say that three times fast!
You are correct – bloggers, like us, are a bit strange I guess. I do appreciate you TC and I also appreciate Jeff. I try to not list many on my blog roll – just so I can have some freedom with it. I do use those blog rolls to find good reading. As to Jim West – no one knows. He does have freedom, as we all do. His blog is not one I frequent any more because of some attitudes (putting down of those who differed with him and making fun of such at times) which bothered me. He, however, will be deeply missed because when he was blogging about discoveries and Scripture – it was (is) outstanding.
TC, how about a picture that reveals your handsome mug, that would be a strange thing for you to do…
Oops, no pun intended. Your picture does reveal your coffee mug, I was referring to your more handsome mug, as in “mug shot,” of course.
Handsome? I thought that that was the reason for the mug in the first place
Iris,
I appreciate your wonderful insights. They often bring sanity.
Blogrolls are indeed tricky.
Peter,
If wordpress allowed the avatars to be more close up, you’d see it.
Joel,
I’ll let you get away with that one. Nice, though.
I am going to post on this.
Jeff
I wouldn’t even read it three times fast!
Peter,
If wordpress allowed the avatars to be more close up, you’d see it.
Wordpress allowed my avatar close up.
Jeff
